CoachEx uses several forms of what is commonly referred to as Artificial Intelligence (AI)• Machine learning and computer vision analyse your tennis swings, picking out movement patterns, stroke timing and technique. This runs on your device.Large language models turn the results of that analysis into coaching feedback. This runs on our service, using trusted third party AI providers.During Live Coaching, so your coach can respond to what you are actually doing, CoachEx sends a few low resolution, black and white still images from your camera to those providers. They are analysed in the moment and are not stored by us or by them. Your swing videos themselves are never sent.

Not exactly. Our algorithms analyze your movement patterns to extract a numerical analysis of your motion. This analysis happens on your device. It is this numerical data which is sent to AI for analysis to generate Coaching advice. Video recordings of you are not sent to our servers for processing. Sometimes individual frames or images may be used to assist certain AI coaching features.

Yes, by default. Your recordings help improve how well CoachEx coaches, and everything that identifies you is stripped out before they are used. They are never used for anything else.You can turn this off whenever you like, in Settings -> Privacy -> Share videos to improve accuracy. Turning it off stops any further use straight away and changes nothing about the coaching you get..

No. CoachEx needs to see that a person is in frame so it can find your swings, but it does not work out who that person is. There is no facial recognition and no other biometric identification, and your videos are not used to build any kind of profile of you.

No. Videos stored by CoachEx are private to your account and are not visible to other users. You may choose to share your own videos using your phone's built-in sharing mechanisms.

No. CoachEx does not sell user data or videos. Any optional data used to improve our system is anonymized and used only to improve the product. Your videos and other data are yours.

You can change your preference at any time in:Settings → PrivacyRecordings already contributed have had everything identifying removed, and cannot be traced back to you afterwards. That is what keeps them private, but it also means we have no way to find and pull out an individual person's contribution later.

There are two ways videos are uploaded:As part of theVideo backup feature enabled by your subscription. Video backup is a feature of CoachEx that copies your videos to your account in our service. Videos are uploaded and stored privately and securely for your use only. This allows CoachEx to restore your account if your device is lost or you acquire a new device. This is also useful if you have a second device where you like to watch your videos (such as an iPad). This cloud storage is under your control and kept secure. If you would rather not upload videos even privately, you can disable this in Settings → Backup→ Video backupTo improve our analysis of your tennis swings. When this occurs, we anonymize the videos and aggregate them so that they cannot be traced back to you. You can change your preference at any time in: Settings → Privacy → Share videos to improve accuracy Turning this option off will stop your data from being used to improve our system going forward.

Camera access allows CoachEx to analyze tennis swings to provide coaching feedback, and to record swing videos for you to watch later, with optional coaching commentary. You can control camera permissions in your device settings, however if you disable camera access for CoachEx the app cannot function.

Microphone access allows you to converse with your AI Coach. By talking with your coach you can ask questions, explain what you want to do, ask for more review or for Coach to show you training or analysis videos. You can control microphone permissions in your device settings, however if you disable microphone access for CoachEx a significant part of the coaching experience is lost. Your voice is processed as you speak so your coach can answer, and is not recorded or kept

Some data has to reach our service for coaching to work at all. Beyond that, sharing is your choice.Two settings are on by default and can be switched off at any time in Settings -> Privacy: Sharing your videos to improve our analysis, and sharing usage data to improve the app. Coaching works exactly the same with both turned off.

In the app, go to Settings, Account, Delete my account. Your account and your recordings are removed from our systems within a few minutes.
